This weeks Friday Jam was not one of music, but one of \\\"sound.\\\" Everyday, we hear backround noises that we are not even aware of. This performance uses sounds picked up and gathered from our daily life to concoct a cinematic experience, despite merely being a consortium of fragmented sounds without a melody, during the 30 minutes it lasted. It was a relaxing and refreshing break from our ordinary lives.

Guest Talks Toshiko Okamoto(Director, Taro Okamoto Memorial Museum)
Toshiko Okamoto, the woman who acted as the personal secretary, life long partner and the one who supported artist Taro Okamoto for many years gave a lecture at CAMK. Over an astounding 77 minutes without a break or sitting down, Toshiko passionately gestured and talked to the overwhelmed full-house audience about Taro\\\'s life. Throughout the talk the energy of Okamoto\\\'s \\\"Eruption\\\" was most certainly felt.
The \"Taro Okamoto La solitude absolue Exhibit\" is officially open! This time the exhibit is free to elementary and junior high students from the Kumamoto City area so please take this opportunity to come and check out the museum. For more details, check out our exhibit homepage.
As you may or may not know, Friday Jam Concerts are normally held every Friday while there is an exhibit running. However, this time during the in-between of the Open Sky and the Okamoto Taro exhibits a special koto concert was held. This concert was for the Tokyo koto songwriter Shingo Ikenoue. The breadth of the Japanese music world could be heard through classical pieces, compositions by Mr. Ikenoue as well as recent pop music arrangements like \"Yoru no Mukou.\" The dazzling harmony of Japanese sounds provided for an enchanting evening.
Music group \"Bimaccho,\" with its newly formed members gave their opening act. With a performance that was synchronized to video feed in the background, their show is a fine example of contemporary art at the front lines. \"Pop music with a twinge of sadness,\" (from a band flyer) was the mood for the latter half of the show, performed by the band Song Cycle. It was one feel-good, rip-roarin\' Friday Jam Concert.
