「境界をうらがえす」ワークショップ《Tea, Chatting and Kecak》

武田力（演出家・民俗芸能アーカイバー）×野村誠（作曲家）による、リサーチプロジェクト「境界をうらがえす」。7月のワークショップは、一人一人の日常を持ち寄ってシェアしてみるような、そんな時間を集まった皆さんと作ってみたいと思います。

福岡県八女市で昔から育てられ、いまは売っていないお茶をたくさん持っていきます。お茶を飲みながら、バリ島のケチャをみんなで歌いましょう。日本の人もあまり知らない日本茶の淹れ方もお教えします。

もしよかったら、みなさんもいつも飲んでいるお茶や、いつも食べているお菓子があれば、少し持ってきてください。みんなでどんな毎日を送っているのかお話ししながら、お茶やお菓子を楽しみましょう。

Welcome to the workshop for ‘Turning Boundaries Inside Out’, a research project by Riki Takeda (theatre director/folk arts archivist) and Makoto Nomura (composer)!We want to create a cozy space with the participants, where we can just hang out and share our everyday experiences. Let’s chat about our daily lives over some tea and snacks.

We’re bringing plenty of tea grown for generations in Yame City, Fukuoka Prefecture—it’s not for sale anywhere. We can try singing the Balinese Kecak together while we enjoy our tea. We’ll also show you a lesser-known way to brew Japanese tea that not everyone is familiar with.Feel free to bring your favourite tea or favourite snacks to share!

⭐︎「境界をうらがえす」プロジェクト

分断が煽られていくような時代に、私たちはどうやって生きるのか。外国から来られた方々が増えている熊本で、じっさいに地域を歩いて、人と出会い、考え動いてみる、そんなプロジェクトを二人のアーティストと始めます。私たちはそれぞれの背景をもち、地域で暮らしています。美術館で、地域で、人々と出会い、お互いに学び合うような取り組みを作っていくことができたらと考えています。

The ‘Turning Boundaries Inside Out’ Project

In an era of deepening divisions, how should we live? As Kumamoto’s international community grows, we are launching a project with two artists to explore the local area, meet people, reflect, and take action. Although we come from different backgrounds, we coexist here together. Through this project, we hope to create opportunities to connect and learn from one another—both inside and outside the museum.

武田 力／たけだ　りき／Riki Takeda

演劇をやっています。でも、劇場の中で舞台を上演するというよりは、公園や道路でたまたま通りかかった人たちと一緒になにかをつくるということが多いです。あとは、日本の色んな場所で、続けていくことが難しくなったお祭りを、どうしたらこれからも続けていけるかを、そのお祭りを守ってきた地域の人たちと話しながら、考えています。

I’m involved in theatre. However, rather than staging plays in theatres, I often find myself creating something together with people who just happen to be passing by in parks or on the streets. I also travel to various parts of Japan to discuss with local people—who have long safeguarded these festivals—how we might ensure that festivals which have become difficult to sustain can continue into the future.

野村 誠／のむら　まこと／Makoto Nomura

作曲家で、いろいろな音楽を作っています。楽器の音だけでなく、石とか竹とか風船とか色々な音を楽しみます。屋根の上に使う瓦も楽器になったり、ペットボトルを演奏したりもします。音楽をplay する上で、遊ぶ(play) ことも大切にし、身体をいっぱい動かして演奏します。
インドネシア、タイ、イギリス、イタリアなど、色々な国にも出かけて行って、一緒に音を出しながら音楽をつくることが多いです。ピアノが得意ですが、今は熊本に伝わる琵琶を習っています。

I am a composer and create all sorts of music. I enjoy not only the sounds of musical instruments, but also the sounds of various objects such as stones, bamboo and balloons. I even turn roof tiles into instruments and play on plastic bottles. When making music, I place great importance on the act of ‘playing’ itself, and I perform whilst moving my body energetically.
I often travel to various countries—such as Indonesia, Thailand, the UK and Italy—where I frequently create music by making sounds together with local people. Whilst I specialise in the piano, I am currently learning to play the biwa, a traditional instrument passed down in Kumamoto.
